Array Bulletin: Service & Market Updates for April 2008

Over the last few weeks we've implemented our defined contribution service for several new employer groups. In this issue, we will discuss how our service enabled one of these new clients to offer health benefits for the first time. We will also share some recently released data on the individual health insurance market in Washington.

Client Case Study: Array's Affordable Solution

Several of our newest groups are young software companies. In one instance, the company had grown to the point that it needed to offer health benefits and investigated purchasing a traditional group plan. The owner, however, was shocked to learn how expensive it would be to cover his employees. He concluded that he could not afford health benefits until Array's defined contribution service was presented as an option.

With traditional group health insurance costing on average $372 per employee per month, many businesses cannot afford group coverage. However, with Array's defined contribution service, employers can now offer health benefits to their employees at a price they can afford. In this instance, the employer gave employees $250 a month. Employees were then able to use Array's service to apply for an individual policy or use the funds for other eligible medical expenses. Our service allowed this company to provide health benefits for the first time.
