Reimbursing for Medicare
The standard plans offered in the individual health insurance market are not available to people who are Medicare eligible. Those who are Medicare eligible can purchase Medicare Advantage, Medigap, and Medicare Part D plans in the private market. The premium for these plans are HRA reimbursable expenses. In addition, employees can use their HRA dollars to be reimbursed for Medicare Parts A and B.
The HRA reimbursement process works differently for employees on private and
public Medicare plans than it does for non-Medicare eligible employees with
individual insurance. People who choose Medicare Advantage, Medigap, and Medicare
part D plans have premium bills sent to their homes which they can then submit
to Array for reimbursement. Employees with Medicare Parts A and B can submit
their quarterly statements to Array for reimbursement.
