The Private Exchange puts you in control
Unlike the State Exchanges, which dictate eligibility and include your competitors’ products, the Private Exchange sells only your products. You control eligibility, access, and distribution.
The Private Exchange is insurer-branded and operates independently of State Exchanges. All health plans and ancillary products available to employees are offered exclusively by you. This eliminates competition and enables you to grow membership during the employer transition to insurer exchanges.
Controlled access
The Private Exchange is available only to employers, so an individual must be an employee of a participating employer to access it. You control employer access choosing which employers and employee segments are eligible for the Private Exchange. By controlling access, you can more easily manage your risk pools.
Wholesale distribution
You can use your existing wholesale distribution model by selling the Private Exchange to employers, either directly or through producers. This wholesale distribution model translates to lower customer acquisition costs when compared to individual and employer coverage through the State Exchanges, where insurers must sell to members at a retail level.
