The Payment Distribution Engine takes a single employer payment and directs how to apply credits across employees' plans.

Throughout the month, numerous changes occur to employee and dependent coverage. These changes affect employee and employer balances and alter payment responsibility. Adding to the complexity, employers may have already sent payment based on the original bill or on anticipated adjustments, creating disparities between what is currently owed and what was paid. The Payment Distribution Engine accounts for the changes that have been made and accurately distributes payment credits to the employees' plans:
